LUKE SKYWALKER LIGHTSABER SE
STAR WARS: EPISODE IV A NEW HOPE

"You're father wanted you to have this when you were old enough..."
- Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope

With these words, young Luke Skywalker was introduced to the weapon of the Jedi Knights, and his life as a farm boy on the backwater, desert world of Tatooine was changed forever.  Catapulted by a series of events, set in motion many years before his birth, Luke began the adventure of a lifetime to rescue a Princess and ended up a hero of the Rebellion against the evil Galactic Empire.

The first example we ever see of a Jedi's lightsaber in the Star Wars saga is when Obi-Wan Kenobi hands to young Luke his father's lightsaber.  Though many different designs would be introduced later in the series, it is the Luke Skywalker lightsaber that will always be remembered in Star Wars history as being the first one seen on screen.

For Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, Luke's lightsaber prop was created from as antique flashgun.  Seven T-shaped grips were added to the lower circumference and a 1970's calculator display component topped off the "control box."  A simple picture hanger and D-ring riveted to the bottom allowed the weapon to be worn on a belt loop... So was born the iconic Skywalker lightsaber.

Utilizing an original flashgun, original sourced parts used on the actual filming prop and numerous high-resolution archival images supplied by Lucasfilm Ltd for reference, MR was able to ensure the utmost accuracy demanded by our collectors.

Crafted from the finest quality machined aluminum, brass and steel, with co-molded injection plastic grips and chrome plated details, Master Replicas is proud to offer the Luke Skywalker A New Hope LE lightsaber.  We hope you enjoy and treasure it for years to come.
