LUKE SKYWALKER LIGHTSABER EE
STAR WARS: EPISODE IV A NEW HOPE

"Your father wanted you to have this when you were old enough..."
-Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope

With these simple words young Luke Skywalker was introduced to the weapon of a Jedi Knight, and his life as a farm boy on the backwater, desert world of Tatooine was changed forever.  Catapulted by a series of events, set in motion many years before his birth, Luke began the adventure of a lifetime to rescue a Princess and ended up a hero of the Rebellion against the evil, tyrannical Galactic Empire, by blowing up its ultimate weapon - the planet killing Death Star.

The first example we ever see of a Jedi's lightsaber, in the Star Wars saga is when Obi-Wan Kenobi hands to young Luke his father's lightsaber.  Though many design variants would be introduced later in the series, it is the Luke Skywalker lightsaber that will always be remembered in Star Wars history as being the first one seen on screen.

For Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, Luke's lightsaber prop was created from an antique flashgun.  Seven T-shaped grips were added to the lower circumference and a 1970's calculator display component topped off the "control box."  A simple picture hanger and D-ring riveted to the bottom allowed the weapon to be worn on a belt loop and so was born the iconic Skywalker lightsaber.

To celebrate the "original" appearance of this important weapon in the forthcoming Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, Master Replicas decided to offer our Collectors Society members a unique replica of this weapon.  Copied from a direct study of an original flashgun and original sourced parts used on the filming of the prop, we also accessed numerous high-resolution Lucasfilm Ltd supplied archival images to ensure the utmost accuracy demanded by our collectors.

Crafted from the finest quality stainless steel, with co-molded injection grips and accented chrome plated details, we at Master Replicas are proud to offer the Luke Skywalker A New Hope Lightsaber as the second in our extremely limited edition Elite Series.  We hope you enjoy and treasure it for years to come.
